CENSSAT-1

CENSSAT-1 is developed by a team of PhD students and researchers at the University of Oslo, supported by a large number of industrial and academic partners.
CENSSAT-1 is a 16U CubeSat mission by the Centre for Space Sensors and Systems (CENSSS), hosted at the University of Oslo. CENSSAT-1 has a variety of scientific objectives, the main theme being space situational awareness by studying Earth’s atmospheric response to space weather variability and detecting mm-sized space debris in-situ. It features 7 payloads in total, all of them being developed by CENSSS and the Centre’s partners. The platform for CENSSAT-1 is provided by Space Inventor.
I wear many hats for the CENSSAT-1 mission. On one hand, my PhD project tries to build a digital twin of the satellite to explore how we can improve the space system design processes and optimize spacecraft operations once in orbit. On the other hand, I try to lend my expertise to the entire team, acting as a systems engineer for the mission and deputy mission manager.
